Premiere: Le Carousel - Lose Your Love (Andrew Weatherall remix)

Dummy are happy to announce that DJ and producer Phil Kieran, whose music has featured on Bugged Out! and Sven Vath’s Cocoon label, will release the debut effort from his new band project, Le Carousel in March. The Belfast producer wrote most of the album while surrounded by the calm of Donegal, way out on the west coast of Ireland. So while the album’s themes of daily cycles and rotations may fit well in the mind of a city dweller, they are informed by the windswept atmosphere of the countryside.

Le Carousel is a project that Kieran seems eager to expand into others forms of media, having already collaborated with designer and film director Glenn Leyburn for the album artwork. In a rather nifty move, the image Leyburn has designed will be painted onto a gigantic canvas, the size of 324 twelve-inch record sleeves. After being used as a backdrop for a live tour, the canvas then will be broken down to serve as a series of limited edition vinyl albums.

Ahead of the release of ‘Le Carousel’, here’s an exclusive listen to one of the pioneers of the London acid house scene and two-time Dummy mixer Andrew Weatherall’s take on single Lose Your Love. Weatherall slaps on the synths for the remix, to build a tickling, treading shuffle. Stream it below:

‘Le Carousel’ will be released on Phil Kieran’s own PKR label on 11th March, with launch events in Belfast, Berlin and London to be announced shortly.
