Johnny Burgos is a multi-faceted singer, songwriter and producer born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. Of Puerto Rican and Portuguese heritage, Johnny was fascinated by the music in the melting pot of cultures surrounding him from a young age. With influences such as Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, J Dilla, Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo, his music draws upon the core principles of R&B and soul, while encompassing elements of pop, hip hop, reggae, and salsa. Today, we are premiering his new single, the electro-pop and funk-inspired 'Hot Flash'. An irrepressibly groovy number that harkens back to the heyday of 1970s funk and 1980s disco, Burgos definitely wants you to move to this statement of intent.
“Hot Flash is the culmination of my Michael Jackson & Prince obsessions as well as my passion for Salsa percussion and horns," says Burgos of the new record. "It’s one of those songs I have always wanted to make but never quite had the chops and/or musician friends to pull it off, until now.”
