Premiere: G R E A T W A V E S - Silva mixtape

Bella Union are throwing a Christmas bash at the Union Chapel tomorrow night with MONEY, Pale Seas and ace Manchester duo G R E A T W A V E S, and to celebrate, G R E A T W A V E S are sharing a free mixtape named ‘Silva’. Ranging from scuzzy post-punk to hypnotic, repetitious drum machine music, no two cuts from the seven tracks sound alike, although a clear highlight has to be the weirdly addictive Boom Boom that forms the tape’s centrepiece. It can hardly be called ‘festive’, but it’s certainly a treat.
