Premiere: Charlotte Gainsbourg - Les Oxalis (Alan Braxe Remix)

Charlotte Gainsbourg will release a 12” EP for Record Store Day through Because Music on 21st April featuring remixes of three songs from her new album Rest. Alongside Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond, Alan Braxe is part of French house trio Stardust, the brains behind 1998 mega hit ‘Music Sounds Better With You’.

Braxe, who has previously remixed songs by Beyoncé, Björk, Franz Ferdinand and Justice, serves up a signature funk-filled percussive version of Gainsbourg's 'Les Oxalis' with an array of retro synths, uplifting piano keys and looping angelic vocals.

"The track has a disco sound to it," he said in a press release, "and I thought it would be interesting to do an old-school remix, a sort of extended version, by softening the original elements throughout the length of the song. So this was the direction I took. I then changed the drums and increased the beat so that the track had more of a club sound, but without losing the essence of the original.”
