Premiere: Adeniké - Yes (Shy One Remix)

Here’s a brand new remix from Shy One, whose impressive ‘Bedknobs and Boomkicks’ album we gave you a first listen to in November. Her debut was a snappy fusion of garage and funky, full of colour and character, making it a worthy first release for Scratcha’s DVA Music imprint.

For this rework, Shy One deconstructs Adeniké‘s safely soulful original around tumbling rhythms and dampened synths. It’s one that favours carefully ascending atmospherics over bounding rise and release – sure to keep the feet shuffling if it gets played out during her set at the Hum+Buzz night tomorrow.
