Following our past playlists we’ve decided to create one dedicated entirely to those fresh finds you come across while surfing the internet. 'Brand New to Dummy’ (#BNTD) showcases a selection of tracks by up-and-coming artists who we’re really looking forward to hearing more from.
To launch this week’s selection, we’ve picked a brand spanking new cut from Red Bull Music Academy alumni, Jade Statues. Released as part of his debut EP My Blade (out now via Los Angeles-based collective TAR) the track 'Surrounding' provides a fully ethereal experience very neatly packaged in an intelligent and clever arrangement. From the synth work to the vocal production, the Canadian producer meticulously juggles between ambient and half-time textures whilst making every detail count as much as the beginning and the end. Don’t sleep on this!
Listen to 'Surrounding' below.
Further catching our eye this week: Snoh Aalegra reveals an impressive new collaboration, up-and-coming producer Sente preps you for the weekend, Mike Regal drops some addictive heat and Lyves continue to impress in the contemporary British R&B scene. Listen to the selections below.
