Pional – Into a trap by permanent vacation

Spanish producer Pional (Miguel Barros) was last year responsible for some of the most lovely, wide-eyed house to come swooning its way into our ears for a while. The gorgeous ‘A Moot Point’ EP – which included the stellar feathery lilt of In Another Room – and the moody piano drive of We Have Been Waiting For You were both released on John Talabot’s Barcelona-based label Hivern Discs last year.

There’s something of the fantastical about Pional’s compositions. They’re light but enveloping, like passing through someone else’s daydream. This week he’s released the ‘House On The Left’ EP on German label Permanent Vacation (also responsible for putting out John Talabot’s ‘My Old School’ and ‘Matilda’s Dream’). You can stream an MP3 of track Into A Trap from the EP here, which continues in the lush, dreamy, footsteps of his previous releases. A pretty, gentle shudder of a track that falls and builds with all the comforting playfulness of a fairytale unfolding.
