Peter Gordon & Factory Floor - Beachcombing

A while back, Nik Void from Factory Floor got in touch with Peter Gordon via email professing a love for his work. Gordon and his Love Of Life Orchestra had just released a reissue of old material through DFA (an excellent reissue, we must add), and Factory Floor had just started releasing their own material on the imprint, and the two decided that their was enough of a cosmic connection between the them to collaborate. Following this back-and-forth a live performance took place at the ICA in London, but for anybody that might have missed that show, fear not – Optimo Music are releasing the collaboration. Titled Beachcombing, it’s a 15-minute apreggiated epic, a noisy no wave chugger at times and a beautiful and haunting piece of music at others. It ends in an explosion of Gordon’s sax, and it’s great.
