One quick question: D/R/U/G/S

Like everyone who writes on the internet, we’ve been listening to this band called D/R/U/G/S for quite a while, but it wasn’t until we saw them live that we actually got our head round the scale of Manchester-based George and Cal’s ambition, verve and wit. Their music sounds a bit like a more trance-y Future Sound of London, with their organic-yet-futuristic tones and those structures that suggest the eternal and are also really fun to listen to, and make you want to go out and do stupid things with your friends. They’ve been playing live a fair amount recently, with gigs with Untold, Pantha du Prince, Blondes and loads of other awesome people.

What was your scariest drug experience?

Cal: This one time, i took three paracetamol instead of the regular doctor-approved dose of two. I was fucked.

George: Weirdly, I’m not really into smashing out wildly on drugs. The idea behind the name comes from achieving that sort of high through natural means, like when a tune feels just right. Some real buddhist shit.

Taking a break from gigging, D/R/U/G/S’s are working towards a 12”.
