The latest release from Not Not Fun sub-label 100% Silk comes from Brooklyn’s Octo Octa. The 12” is already sold out in most places, but now you can download the B-side to the release I’m Trying. The idea of taking of filtering dance music through noise that seems to run through most of the labels release is also here apparent. We’ve got R&B on the chopping board this time around, with Octo Octa messing around with Amerie’s One Thing, pulling the sharp vocals of the original into altogether spacier and more hall-of-mirrors house realms.
You can also stream the A-side High Reflection in all its glassy, 4/4 shimmery-ness here too via Factmag.
