MoreNight steps up the intensity with 'Trophy' EP

Slapping claps and high hats slide into a funky rhythm on 'Steppin''

Producer MoreNight drops four-track ‘Trophy’ EP featuring rap giants Manga Saint Hilare, Scrufizzer, namesbliss and Snowy. Previous EP that was more inclined towards UKG received great acclaim and ‘Trophy’ has only taken MoreNight to new heights.

Lead track ‘Easy Peezy‘ pays homage to grime’s origins. It was recently released as a single in the lead up to the EP and sits tight with Snowy’s mischievous vocal that full on flexes his wordplay and mastery of a beat. ‘Thin Ice’ steps up the intensity, fusing a Balkan sample with hard-hitting kick drums over which MC Scruffier lays an anthemic vocal – straying away from the garage and bassline tunes that he blew up on.

Bigger Badder Better‘ moves into a drill sound with a strong melodic rap hook, acting as the home to a hefty namesbliss vocal, whose high-speed bars on tunes have been picked up by Footasylum and Levi’s. ‘Steppin” fuses piano chords, slapping claps and high hats that slide into a funky rhythm underneath a feature from the mighty Manga Saint Hilare, a member of the Roll Deep collective and nominee for ‘Best Grime Act’ at 2020’s MOBO Awards.

‘Trophy’ is out now via DMY.
