Mohammad - Lapli Tero

After a fine year last year, the next release from Bill Kouglias’ PAN label will come courtesy of Greek chamber trio Mohammad. The group are comprised of Coto K on contrabass, Nikos Veliotis on cello and ILIOS on oscillators, and have had previous full-length releases on Athens label Antifrost.

While Lapli Tero, the first track shared from the ‘Som Sakrifis’ release, is cut from a very different cloth to label mainstays like Lee Gamble, it trades in similar levels of dread-filled intensity. The layers of languid strings gradually carve out their mark in your brain, before ILIOS’ squeaking oscillators present snatches of light. These disparate elements soon build into a murky and quietly captivating monolithic whole.
