Martyn - Popgun [stream]

A male cry that’s halfway between a groan and a screech (the recipient of the titular popgun’s pow! maybe) sounds out at intervals in this tough, rough and tumble techno cut from Dutch producer Martyn. It’s one of the feistiest numbers from his excellent new album ‘Ghost People’ on Brainfeeder, the follow up to his 2009 debut ‘Great Lengths’, and has plenty of this-sound-will-cleanse-me appeal.

In more Martyn news, he will play live at his album launch (tickets here) on Thursday 15th September, with Kode 9 (playing a garage set), dBridge, Manny Z (Citinite) and SP:MC. The “secret Hoxton warehouse” will be transformed for the night by artist Erosie, who also co-runs the label 3024 with Martyn. Sneak preview of what that will look like below.

Brainfeeder will release ‘Ghost People’ on 10th October 2011
