Mala - The Tunnel

Subtle Cuban beats draw you in smoothly and a heavy drop at 27 seconds, explodes in a way beyond your control. The Tunnel is the latest track to hit the scene from upcoming LP ‘Mala in Cuba’, and gives you some idea why Gilles Peterson has called this project the most exciting thing his label has done since Roni Size’s era-defining ‘New Forms’. The track hosts a vast range of sounds, disjointed pianos, eerie synths and strange percussion coming together in a way that’s a little unnerving and makes you even more interested in reaching the song’s powerful level.
