Lusine - The Waiting Room [LP stream]

Lusine’s new LP ‘The Waiting Room’ is streamable over on The Hype Machine – and it’s the perfect kind of warm, characterful electronica to wrap yourself up in during a harsh bout of late-winter cold.

It’s Jeff McIlwain’s ninth album in fifteen years, and his fourth for Michigan label Ghostly International (whose 2013 releases have so far included EPs from Gold Panda and “Dauwd:“https://soundcloud.com/dauwd, if you’re asking). Much of ‘The Waiting Room’ speaks to Lusine’s reputation as a malleable and mercurial producer: swerving from a shuffling electro take on Electronic’s) Get The Message, to the muted minimal kick-snare of First Call. McIlwain’s happy to reveal a tougher side: Stratus delivers heady splashes of circling and insistent synth work, while slow-burner February cooks up a storm of sweaty, dancefloor bravado. Give it a go for yourself below.

Ghostly International released ‘The Waiting Room’ on the 18th February 2013.
