Lone - AM Portal

Lone has shared his first new material of the year, and it comes in the shape of the meandering, eased-up AM Portal. Its opening of twinkling keys and sustained chords is in no hurry at all, before a bumbling beat finally joins in and moves loosely, as a jittering cowbell attempts to keep the rhythm cohesive. Although the last track he shared, the crackling Ghost Channel, was an older cut, the two of these coming in succession could indicate the Manchester-based artist is moving into more abstract territory following last year’s rave-indebted, and much admired, ‘Galaxy Garden’ LP.
