Divine Interface is Atlanta producer Drew Briggs. Part of the city’s Ghetto Lo-Fi collective, his releases to date have been “more on the late night atmospheric vibe” (Fool Me Pt.2 is a particularly lush example below). However, this Lloyd remix introduces a new look for the astutely named Divine Interface: “Most of my new tracks use faster and more club oriented rhythms”, he explains. Here he strips R&B singer Lloyd’s Player’s Prayer to a contorted plea and a hypnotic rattle; simple elements with which he builds a compelling tension. A deep one for the early hours, download it below.
