Laurel Halo is an artist that works really hard (last week she announced an EP on Hippos In Tanks, the week before she did an amazing rework of fellow-Brooklyn musicians Extra Life’s Strong Brother Weak Brother, she’s touring Europe in May / June) and makes music with a vastness, a seriousness and a musicality that few, if any, can scratch. The above track, Zoo Hypothesis, taken from ‘Antenna’, a tape out on NNA, is two minutes long and stretches into infinity and is a pretty good example of why all 7 billion of us should be very excited about her music and the trip she is taking.
