It’s best not to remix Lana Del Rey, really. Many have tried, and few have succeeded. Her voice is too distinct to manipulate, the production too tightly spacious to suit meddling. Todd Terry, has taken the understandable decision of ignoring Lana Del Rey’s original, apart from a snatched “Boy put your hands up”, to create a tune that sounds a bit like David Morales covering 212. The other two mixes, pasted below offer diametric how-not-tos of the art of the remix (either respectfully tweaking the tune and making it dull, or adding a massive, pointless dubstep bassline), but the Todd Terry one has its charms.
