After teasing the single at The halley x DMY Live Sessions show a few weeks back, North London rapper JD Cliffe has finally released his explosive new anthem ‘Runupthebag’.

The track marks his fourth release so far this year, following the melodic drill cut ‘Wintertime in London’, ‘Who I Be’ and ‘Go’. Fans of the rising rapper who have seen him perform live before will be aware of JD’s raw energy and inimitable stage presence, with ‘Runupthebag’ being one of his most powerful releases to date.

Made for raising the roof at any party or show, the high-octane UK rap track sees the wordsmith glide over a percussion-heavy beat with his twisting flows and infectious hooks.

As a North Londoner, the rapper was never short of iconic figures in the local area to take inspiration from, citing Skepta and JME’s Boy Better Know as a monumental force in his development. Check out his 10 Best Live Rap Performances feature with us, listing iconic shows from Dave, J Hus, Kendrick Lamar and more.

Having already shared stages with Yung Fume, House of Pharaohs, Kojo Funds and Section Boys, as well as performing on COLORS, JD has grown his cult following even more this year following a string of live appearances, with even more yet to come.

Check out some snaps below from JD Cliffe’s recent performance at The halley alongside Jaish and Le3 bLACK. Fans can expect a music video to go alongside the new single very soon.
