Jaish flexes his artistic versatility on personal new EP 'Declaration'

"I wanted to prove I can make what I want and my music can still hold weight..."

20-year-old Bournemouth rapper Jaish today delivers his new EP, ‘Declaration’.

Earlier this month, the rising lyricist teased his latest 6-track project with ‘Bloodline’, a scorching single twisting UK rap and jazz-leaning production around Jaish’s melodic flows.

Un-phased by the boxes people put him in, the Hampshire-based artist embraces switching up his style with each release, dedicating the new EP to showing people how versatile he really is.

“I wanted to make a project which would incorporate the many ways I can express myself with music – some [tracks] more upbeat, some more chilled. I feel like versatility is a big thing for me so I wanted to prove I can make what I want and my music can still hold weight.”

Shifting gears through hip hop, R&B and beyond with the maturity of an artist beyond his years, the project’s opening track ‘WINNIN’ sees Jaish explore his own growth and the setbacks he’s encountered.

‘Hazey’ allows the rapper a moment of reflection besides some soulful, lamenting female vocals, while ‘Fiji’ brings the summer vibes with a washed-out soundscape. Final track ‘I Try’ rounds off the EP with a mellow vibe, starkly contrasting to the angle of the first track and completing a multi-faceted body of work.
