hidingthehurt's 'From Fieldfare With Love' EP is "a genre-less fusion of honesty and individualism"

The project solidifies his status as one of the UK's most exciting and forward-thinking hyperpop artists

After months of anticipation, UK hyperpop star hidingthehurt finally delivers his latest EP ‘From Fieldfare With Love’.

Named after the house the emerging tastemaker, real name Ollie Greenhalgh, grew up in, the 6-track project carries forward his vision of emotional honesty and gender blurring maturity around sensitive areas such as depression and loneliness.

The roll-out for the new EP saw Greenhalgh share two singles, ‘iLike’ and ‘Take Ur Leave’, the former enlisting the vocals of rising star Tsuyunoshi for a silky smooth anti-pop track about being in love.

“This song for me expresses what being in love is all about, there are warring factions inside my mind and Tsuyunoshi and I do everything we can to portray this feeling in this piece of art. Love is sometimes easy, love is sometimes hard, love is sometimes beauty and love is sometimes pain, no matter what though, love should be unconditional,” Ollie says.

Recruiting well acclaimed stateside producers including Glasear and Kimj who have both worked with big names in the hyperpop scene, namely ericdoa and glaive, Ollie also enlists vocal performances from rising acts such as st jimmy to add to what he describes “a genre-less fusion of honesty and individualism.”

If there was ever any doubt, ‘From Fieldfare With Love’ showcases exactly why hidingthehurt has been on the trajectory he’s experienced over the last year, solidifying his status as one of the UK’s most exciting and forward-thinking hyperpop artists.
