Glass Candy – Warm in the Winter & Beautiful Object

In the years between Dummy’s print death and digital rebirth, there were few bands I more regret not covering than Glass Candy. For those not following the work of New Jersey label Italians Do It Better, Glass Candy are an Oregon duo who make Italo in a slow, sensual tone, in a way that sounded revolutionary, hard as that is to imagine after God knows how many lame disco edits and uptight nights. But revisiting their work (particularly necessary is 2008’s collection ‘Deep Gems’) has been a bi-monthly Hajj, and I’m stoked to share with you this rainy Sunday two new cuts from these heroes, out on iTunes now, and vinyl soon.
