DJ Rashad - Can't Hold Me Back

Footwork poster boy DJ Rashad is releasing a new single for Hyperdub next month named ‘Rollin’, and in anticipation of the EP, the label have shared new cut Can’t Hold Me Back. Confusingly, Can’t Hold Me Back won’t feature on the EP, but it should be enough to whet your appetite for what’s coming – a Rick Ross sample is looped to the point of no return, with occasional (and very slight) shift ups maintaing the energy levels, whilst Rashad plays with the drums…and that’s it, pretty much. But that’s part of the simple joy of footwork.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about Rashad teaming up with Hyperdub is that it means he’ll end up back in the UK sometime soon: seeing a footwork DJ in the mix is a one of the most mind-opening experiences you can have in a club.

Hyperdub will release ‘Rollin’ on March 19th.
