Emerging prospect Diedrick today shares his debut single ‘Better’, a soul-bearing cut pinpointing the modern UK R&B sound.

Growing up on a diet of musical influences from Celine Dion and Mariah Carey to Mario and Usher, soul has always been non-negotiable in the formula of his sound.

‘Better’ sees the London-born, Derby-raised talent get off to a promising start in his music career, narrating a story about some of life’s most important lessons: love, loss, faith and desire.

Written and produced by J Warner – an established figure who has previously worked with the likes of Stormzy, Snoh Aalegra and Joy Crookes – this coming of age anthem places Diedrick on a sturdy launchpad among some great company.

The evening before the official launch of the single, Diedrick brought friends and family to a premiere of the brand new Claryn Chong-directed music video. As well as screening some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and performing the track live in front of an audience for the first time, the singer invited the female led team behind the video on stage for a panel about women in music.

As Diedrick builds up to his sophomore release and eventually his debut EP, stay locked to Dummy keep up to date with the singer’s movements.
