Caribou announces 'Suddenly' album: listen to 'You and I'

It's "about a change in my life that happened out of the blue..."

Dan Snaith aka Caribou has announced a new album set for release on City Slang in February next year: ‘Suddenly’.

It follows 2014’s ‘Our Love‘, and arrives along with single ‘You and I’ following ‘Home‘, two singles that exude the dusty warmth of previous Caribou releases.

“‘You and I’ was one of the first tracks on the album that I started and one of the last tracks I finished,” Caribou says, “it existed in some form or other throughout the whole arc of making the record. It also captures a lot of what the record, and the title of the album, are about – the track changes suddenly and unpredictably and it is about a change in my life that happened out of the blue.”

Snaith has revealed that the new LP was mined from over 900 draft ideas. “I record music every day, and I love it – as much or more than I have always done. I feel very lucky – the thrill has never, ever left me,” he says.

Under his Daphni alias, Caribou released his ‘Sizzling’ EP earlier this year.
