Blues Control & Laraaji - Awakening Day
The vibrations of an ancient drum, wind chimes sounding their way across a mountain range and a babbling brook all find their way into the eighth FRKWYS release from RVNG Intl – the series that brings together musical pioneers with the modern equivalents. This time around the New York label got ambient master and Brian Eno collaborator Laraaji and Coopersburg, Pennsylvania new age rock duo Blues Control together for some seriously next plane, next life jam sessions. This first taste of which is, at a whisker over eight and a half minutes long, an exercise in the physicality of sound. Like a warped relaxation tape, it takes root in the subconscious, echoing long after those minutes have faded away.
