bazio‘s ascent this year has been nothing short of sensational, with the Australian talent emerging from the obscurity of his Melbourne bedroom studio to have his woozy brand of left field hip hop recognised across the globe.

Continuing what has turned out to be a pace-setting year for the young talent, bazio returns with a brand new remix of his break-out single ‘criminals’ which is particularly close to his heart. Written, produced, mixed and mastered by himself in his own home, the original single went on to receive extensive support from industry heads, DSP editors, press and radio – notably Triple J being avid supporters of the rising artist’s music.

Now the track has been given a new lease of life, teaming up with enigmatic New York-based rapper Skizzy Mars who bazio grew up listening to. The Manhattan lyricist drops his distinctive verbal glaciers atop the dreamy production, transforming bazio’s alternative crooner into a left-field rap anthem.

“Skizzy is someone who I’d listened to since I was a kid so to have a cosign from him meant the world,” explains bazio. “We had a number of Zoom sessions and eventually decided on him doing a remix of ‘criminals’ as our first song together – as that had been the song through which he’d discovered my music.”

Following the release of ‘Mad’, ‘OUTCAST’ and ‘crazy love’, this latest offering shows bazio’s star potential more than ever and sets him up to make this rest of this year his own.
