BackRoad Gee links up with one of Nigeria's biggest rappers Olamide on new single, 'See Level'

BackRoad has also announced a forthcoming mixtape

BackRoad Gee unleashes his new single ‘See Level’ featuring one of Nigeria’s biggest rappers Olamide, as well as announcing his upcoming mixtape, ‘Reporting Live: From The Back Of The Roads’. ‘See Level’ is brought to fans with a music video directed by TG Omori, a figure who’s worked with other Nigerian names like Burna Boy, Wizkid and Naira Marley.

Instantly recognisable for his deep prowling voice and masterful tongue-rolls, BackRoad has made quite a stir since his 2020 breakout hit ‘Party Popper’ featuring Pa Salieu and Ambush Buzzworl. He’s made additional appearances on tracks like ‘After OT Bop’ beside NSG, and Ghetts’ ‘No Mercy’, proved his versatility on collaborations like ‘Instajets’ with Rudimental (alongside D Double E and The Game), plus he’s covered Metallica for the 30th anniversary of ‘The Black Album’, on ‘Wherever I May Roam’, produced by Chase & Status.

For his latest single, BackRoad shows a different side to him from the darkness of his features on drill tracks – ‘See Level’ is a celebratory and sun tinged Afrobeats number.

This is the latest instalment from his forthcoming mixtape ‘Reporting Live: From The Back of The Roads’ – the first full length project since 2020’s ‘Mukta vs Mukta’. It’ll host a long list of collaborations including JME, Lethal Bizzle, Stefflon Don, TizzTrap, BG, Pa Salieu, Nissi, NSG and Ms Banks.

BackRoad says: “After almost 2 years of hard work, blood, sweat & tears (literally), I can say I’ve had some of the craziest life changes which makes this mixtape mean so much to me. If you know me personally, this music and energy I give you is me from my heart. It’s not a job I go to or an identity I put on. Every word, every punchline, every ad-lib, I feel through the energy. The music is real, not a fairytale. This is I, King Brukz, Reporting Live From The Back of The Roads!”
