Last week, Arca returned in style with the release of her long-teased, rapid-fire rap track titled ‘Incendio’. Adding fuel to the fire, today she debuts ‘Born Yesterday’ featuring Sia, the first single to be shared from her highly-anticipated ‘KICK ii’ album, also announced today.
Complete with a striking video which sees the Venezuelan pop diva take centre stage in a shadowy abyss, Arca’s latest single has the only feature on the twelve track album and makes use of a captivating Sia demo to give the track some extra sparkle.
Due out December 3 on XL Recordings, ‘KICK ii’ is the second stage in the ongoing KiCk series. The next instalment in the anthology, conceived to represent the multiple self-states that exist within Arca, the project consists of all original Arca tracks, with special additions of production from Cardopusher, Boys Noize, Mica Levi, Jenius Level, Wondagurl and Cubeatz.
Last month, Arca curated the C2C Festival X Fundación Marcelo Burlon broadcast, a transdisciplinary sonic and visual performance to raise funds for Casa Rifugio Marcella, a temporary shelter for trans and non-binary people who are victims of discrimination and violence.
