Klaus - 1-800 Dinosaur Mix

1-800 DINOSAUR, the night started by James Blake, Airhead, Klaus, Dan Float and Mr Assister last summer, will return to London’s Plastic People next Friday (22nd February). Following Airhead’s picks for last month’s bash, here’s another mix to get your head in gear for it.

Keeping in with the night’s commitment to an “anything goes” musical policy, Klaus takes us on another meandering journey: focussing early on the most primitive ends of mid-noughties dubstep through Kode9 and Loefah, which is meshed with icy breakbeat from Autechre and Photek. UK hip-hop is represented by Jehst and a couple of Roots Manuva cuts, before AFX and some ’91 era jungle from Code 071 briefly set things alight. Later Klaus widens things into more ambient terrain with KTL’s majestic head-opener Phil II, before winding down with Peverelist’s dissipating Die Brücke. Stream or download the mix below.

1-800-DINOSAUR will take place next Friday 22nd February from 10pm until 4am at London’s Plastic People
