The Black Dog - Electronic Explorations Mix

The Black Dog are one of the more well-known outfits in English electronic music’s history. They cemented themselves in the IDM scene of the early 1990s with releases on Warp and GPR, but shifted their sound more towards brooding techno as they switched over to record labels like Soma and Dust Science. Their line-up also experienced multiple shifts when two of its three founding members left to focus on their side project, Plaid. What the group has always held stable over the years is a tendency towards collaborative efforts within the creative process, which is what drives their expansive Dark Wave mix series. These mixes are usually full of original Black Dog productions and remixes from their favourite producers at the moment. This latest mix on Rob Booth’s Electronic Explorations is an atmospheric tangent that touches upon the darkness of their sound without getting too caught up in its vibe. You can still see the light of day while immersing yourself in the booming sounds around you.
