Premiere: Ikonika - Rinse promo mix

London producer Ikonika‎ descended onto Kode9’s Hyperdub with a slew of 12“s between 2008 – 2010, followed by her debut full-length album, ‘Contact, Love, Want, Have’, in which vivid, colourful and expressionist synth compositions impressed and floored us. She then went onto establish Hum + Buzz (co-founded by Optimum), unleashing their own material as well as records by NYC-based R&Bro Brenmar and Sydney’s bass/techno producer Dro Carey.

Production aside, we’ve always loved Ikonika for her upfront, on-point selection of music in her DJ sets. This mix, available for stream below, does not disappoint either. Having crafted up a quick mix ahead of Kode9’s Rinse:22 launch party this weekend (which promises her special appearance along with six others on the Hyperdub roster), she delivers a snapshot of her energy-injected, fun-loving performances. No tracklist has been provided but we identified that it features Kode9’s latest offering Uh, due out in early June via Rinse Recordings.
