After their 1st Birthday bash featuring grime legend and Pay As You Go founding member Slimzee last month, east London’s niche club night House Of Trax is set to return this weekend, with residents Fools and Rushmore inviting Detroit’s electro and ghetto booty king DJ Assault to top their bill. Perhaps most well known for his obscene vocal delivery in the accelerated, bass-booty productions like Ass N’ Titties, Techno Freak, and U Can’t See Me, he owns an impressive back catalogue, stretching back to 1995, primarily released on his own Jefferson Ave. and Assault Rifle labels, as well as Electrofunk – a Submerge Recordings offshoot operated by Mr. De and himself, which is now defunct.
This 45-minute mix is delivered by Rushmore, who debuted his excellent five-track EP on his own Trax Couture, forthcoming this Thursday 22nd February. It showcases a great selection of DJ Assault classics, ploughing the depths of bass, electro and booty-house, upping the heartbeat of anyone in ear shot while sucking you into the dense, monstrous growls.
House Of Trax #12 will take place at east London venue Dance Tunnel on Saturday 23rd February. Further details here.
