Emptyset live in Paris

Emptyset, duo Paul Purgas and James Ginzburg, have been messing around in the dub, techno, drone, bass region since their debut EP in 2008 and first self-titled album in 2009. This year they released ‘Demiurge’ on Subtext Records, which further carves away at the crackling dub template to mesmerically stoic effect. The below however shows them in DJ mode – a live show they played in Paris back in May around the time of their last album’s release. It’s danceable dark beats at their best with tracks from Oni Ayhun, Carl Craig, Portable and Marcel Dettmann making it into one low-slung pumping mix. Listen here through mixcloud.
