Premiere: Elijah & Skilliam's R&B/R&G Mix for Special Request

DJ’s Elijah and Skilliam head top grime label Butterz, but have interests that go beyond the norm – that is, hosting two all-R&B specials on their Rinse show, and particularly devoting time to the softer and more melodic sub-genre dubbed rhythm and grime or R&G. They notably released the Terror Danjah and Ruby Lee-Ryder single Let Me Be The One on the label last year.

The pair are headlining Special Request’s Valentine’s Day party (details here and flyer below) with an exclusive R&B/G set next weekend, and made this mix as an amuse bouche. It’s much more grime than it is R&B, kicking off with the sweeter mix of Dizzee’s I Luv U, turning to Functions on the Low and going on a trip through a treasured but unassuming off-shoot, ending – as it must – with Kano and Sadie Ama’s So Sure.
