Dummy Mix 623 | Mason Maynard

21.10.21

House DJ and producer, Mason Maynard is one of Manchester’s youngest and most promising talents – backed by BBC Radio 1 tastemakers Annie Mac, Pete Tong and Danny Howard, he’s produced remixes for Rudimental, Michael Bibi and Fabrikate on Nervous Records. Cementing his reputation as being one of dance music’s prodigies, he’s received support from the likes of Solardo, Lee Foss, Skream, Richy Ahmed, Patrick Topping, Green Velvet, Hot Since 82, Danny Howard, Hannah Wants, Latmun and more.

His latest release is the four-track EP ‘Make It Hot’ beginning with an acid-flecked, 303 bassline track beneath a sensual vocal delivery by Chicago don and Farris Wheel Recordings label head Gene Farris. The next track is stepped up by singer-songwriter, Shyam P on ‘Take Me’ who is no stranger to featuring on house tunes, becoming one of the genre’s most favoured vocalists. Detroit techno-flavoured cut ‘Memory’ swings in overflowing with breakbeats and nostalgia before last track, rave-ready tech bomb ‘Propane’ with vocals from Chicago house royalty Green Velvet. Mason is about to take off to the US to play two shows, one in Florida on the 22nd October and one in Arizona on October 29th, but before he goes, he’s recorded a Dummy Mix that seamlessly blends house bangers, rich in grooves and ramped up infectiousness.
