There’s not much that’s known about transatlantic duo Yawning Portal just yet. Newly inked to Vegyn’s PLZ Make It Ruins label, they’re made up of Angel Steele and Petulance. With a name taken from an adventure module anthology in Dungeons & Dragons, their Instagram page has only one image on it: the cover art for their debut EP. Their first release, ‘Heart & Earth‘, came out earlier this month, translating y2k pop influences (Britney, t.A.T.u) into euphoric, ambient structures that are meditative and transportive.
The band – in typically elusive fashion – describe their Dummy Mix as “music to levitate to,” and with a selection of blissful tracks from Eartheater, Lafawndah and Burial as well as their own solo projects, strap in and begin to ascend below.
