A Ph.D student in Sonic Arts at Istanbul Technical University, Ipek Gorgun is well versed in the art of sound design. The Turkish producer and sonic arts researcher has previously played in rock bands, made music with Ceramic TL and graduated from the Red Bull Music Academy, and as such has enjoyed a varied career in music to date.

Last year, Gorgun released second album ‘Ecce Homo’, a highly praised record that mined the various shades – good and bad – of the human psyche, and even featured a sample of right wing nut and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Ahead of this year’s Semibreve festival, where Ipek Gorgun is set to perform alongside Kode9 and other electronic pioneers, she takes the reigns in the latest of our mix series. Exploratory and textural, it flits between twinkling ambience and more energetic, though largely beatless, cuts. Tune in now, and find the tracklist after the jump.
