Dummy Mix 40 // The Golden Filter

Since we came across them late 2008, we’ve been thrilled by The Golden Filter’s awesomely strange, pure-form Pop music, (so much so we stuck out their records). Nicely, they’ve decided to make us a mix.

They’ve recorded a smashing album in ‘Voluspa’, and this set of tunes – embracing as it does Noise, Pop, Shoegaze, Psychedelia and Dance music – is a pretty perfect introduction to its DNA. Throw your phone in the river with your wallet and let this mix play as you wander off – this is a podcast for dreaming and drifting. Click download now.

Can you tell us about the mix?

We made it while living in London for 5 weeks this summer doing European and UK festivals. We’re about to head back to NYC just after we play Field Day this weekend, but we found a bit of down time to make a schizophrenic DJ mix for the label that took our virginity….. Dummy.

How’s life?

It’s little hard to get out of bed at the moment, but life is quite nice.

What’s coming up?

Obviously Field Day, then some traveling to South America, and more US touring, all while working on a lot of new secret music.

What’s your favourite summer record?

Bee Gees – Horizontal.

The Golden Filter will be playing the Bugged Out tent at Field Day in the early afternoon.
