Belgian underground music festival Wastelands announces some excellent first names

Wastelands festival is a little bash taking place in Ghent, Belgium in August that hosts a wicked lineup of new, underground music from around the world. Organised by music mag Subbacultcha! Belgium, previous years have seen the seen artists like Huerco S., John Maus, and Maria Minerva play, and today the festival has announced names for their 2014 edition.

This year, Wastelands will bring Warp's abstract sound collagist patten, globally-minded experimental pop producer Palmistry, and New York rapper Mykki Blanco to Ghent venue 019. They'll be joined by Weird Dust, a local talent who makes hazy, psychedelic jams released out of Ghent label Kerm.

The festival takes place on August 9th 2014. More names are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
