A steamy summer night met with the steamy, sweaty interiors of Chinatown’s fashionable Le Baron club this past Tuesday as the Red Bull Music Academy churned out one of its last events in the Rotten Apple. Participants from the Academy did their thing under the glittering disco ball of the main room whilst the disorientating, smoke-filled downstairs belonged to Dummy fave, the genre-defying and cutting-edge UNO label. Highlights included Shadowbox’s electronic chiaroscuro, Dirg Gerner’s melt-worthy R&B, SFV Acid’s lo-fi dopamine rush, and Gobby’s unpredictable cacophony.
