Orlando’s dancehall round-up: April 2016
As well as being a perfectly well-rounded producer and founding father of New York based label Escape From Nature, Orlando Volcano is also a dancehall obsessive. Continuing his series, he shares April's hottest offerings, which you can peruse below.
This emo party riddim comes with great versions in the form of Turn Up by I Octane and Prang Wine by Quick Cook. I also loved Party Reload by Shawn Storm (the lesser known entertainer involved in the crime that put Vybz Kartel behind bars).
The most star-studded riddim of the month with songs from Sean Paul to Spice. My favorite versions would have to be by Konshens and Aidonia, with special mention to NY-based up and comer Hood Celebrity, who is appearing more frequently on bigger riddims recently. Definitely one to watch.
Marking what feels like the start of summer, another big name riddim with notable appearances from Beenie Man and Future Fambo.
