Flickr artist of the month: Ivan Afanasyev

Where did you grow up?

I have been living in Petrozavodsk, Russia all my life. It’s the capital of Karelia, a republic on the border with Finland.

What inspired you to start your own label?

All my pals around the world doing excellent music in their bedrooms. I co-run Full of Nothing with my wife, Anya Kuts. She’s a painter and does lots of design as well. I do ~40% of the label’s artwork. My wife is the visual head.

What inspired you to create this artwork?

Botanical, medical and other natural science illustrations.
