Filmic festival returns to Bristol

Filmic festival is returning in 2013 with a string of events covering cinema, music and lectures. The festival explores the relationship between music and film, and this year the focus is on PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish, Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory and all-round big dog Philip Glass.

Some of the events include screenings accompanied by live soundtracks, screenings from the likes of music video director Douglas Hart and a performance by Portishead’s Geoff Barrow and a Moog synth orchestra. The biggest event is the close of the festival: Philip Glass will play a solo piano show of Etudes.

The festival takes place in Bristol from Sat 9th March to Tue 14th May. The full list of events can be seen here.
