Alpha-ville cancels annual festival and hosts individual events

After three editions of Alpha-ville Festival, the east London ‘digital culture’ organisation has announced the cancellation of the annual festival this year due to shortage of funding. Instead, a series of individual events will take place on 6th October.

Alpha-ville 2012 LIVE will feature three acts, including the London premiere of the collaboration between Mexican electronic musician Murcof and Simon Geilfus of French visual collective AntiVJ, an audio visual performance by Raster Noton’s label co-owner Byetone, alongside with a special live solo show by Swedish producer The Field.

The second event, taking place on the same day, is a screening at the Hackney Picturehouse, presenting the Alpha-ville Future of Moving Image Award and Alpha-ville Screening Programme. It will feature a bunch of moving image including animation, video art, experimental, interactive, documentary and music video.
