A&R Assistant

DMY is a unique new music company combining artist services solutions (distribution/label/publishing) with an editorial media platform (magazine/video/podcasts).

We are looking for two A&R assistants to assist the A&R team with all administrative duties including the collating and organising of masters, metadata, artwork, videos and lyrics. You will help manage our entire catalogue of masters for our distribution, label and publishing companies and be confident in sharing playlists of those masters with interested third parties including, press, radio, DSPs, music supervisors and similar.

You will also be involved in actively promoting our releases to press, radio and independent playlist curators.

In addition to your administrative responsibilities you will be given the opportunity to search out, contact and secure potential signings to DMY’s distribution, label and publishing companies.

You will be incredibly organised, accurate and meticulous and your attention to detail will be second to none.

You will be passionate and knowledgeable about the kind of music that Dummy covers (UK rap, grime, drill, electronic, R&B, bedroom pop) and the culture that surrounds it.

You will not necessarily have experience in working for a music company but you will be a confident and capable self-starter with an ability to work as part of a team and on your own. You will bring your own ideas but be keen to learn and take on board advice and guidance from the CEO and rest of the team.

Inclusivity and diversity are important to DMY and we are particularly interested in applications from individuals from Black, Asian or ethnic minority backgrounds.

No qualifications or experience necessary.

The role is for 29 hours per week and you will be expected to work from our office in Haggerston, London 2 days per week.

This role is part of the Kickstarter scheme so you must be currently claiming Universal Credit and be aged 16-24 to apply.

The placement is for 6 months.

We pay London Living Wage.
