Yet another hip hop underlord to float to the surface and be signed to a major label.

The internet has done more than open up the market to underground musicians. Evidently, it’s also softened major label attitudes to obscene language and caustic hip hop artists like Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire with yuletide mixtapes like Merry eXmas & Suck My Dick. The announcement that the NYC rapper has signed to Universal Republic just days after he sat on SXSW panel ‘The Importance of Online Video & Social Media’, March 14th. As another shining example of the power of social media, eXquire joins the likes of Death Grips and A$AP Rocky as online hip hop stars come good. Lucky Muthafucka.
