Palmistry on how his father’s death inspired ‘Afterlife’ and working with SOPHIE on Rihanna material
- METRONOMY WE BROKE FREE
It was only recently that i sat down and listened to this album in full. So i guess im a little late to jump on the rivera band wagon. But now the lines of this song is circling my head constantly, and im happy about that.
- KINDNESS CYAN
Adam Bainbridge is the frontman of this project and not only is the music incredible but he also has long, shiny hair. Ive always got time for that. This track is another one that visits my thoughts quite regularly due to its catchy chorus.
- DAVE AJU YOU GOTTA KNOW
This comes from an album called Heirlooms, which is another strong release from Dave Aju. There is a lot of energy in this LP and some tracks that paint a whole different kind of picture ‘You gotta know’ is a fine example of the energy that im talking about and its a track that ive played out in a few sets recently.
- FRANCIS HARRIS CLOSE AIR
This track is from a very delicate and well engineered album called ‘Leland’ and kind of comes from a similar sound to Stimming. Very sonically pleasing, ‘Close Air’ is one of the highlights for me.
- TROY GUNNER FOOLS GOLD
All three tracks from this EP released on Mindset recently are very pleasant indeed. I love the quirky use of audio samples that seem to put your head into a different world for a few minutes. Think an even newer EP is on its way aswell, which im sure will be a fixture in my wagon too.
- NITE JEWEL IN THE DARK
Always happy to hear of another Nite Jewel release coming and her latest album didnt disappoint. Her production style seems to be slowly steering away from its early lo-fi charms on this release and im enjoying watching/hearing her grow. This track taken from her LP ‘One Second of Love’ particularly tickles my fancy at the moment.
- KEYSHIA COLE LOVE (JAW JAM GOOD LUVIN’ BOOTLEG)
Consistently strong production from JAW JAM. ive ended a couple of sets this year with this track too just because i like to hear it really loud! Cant wait to hear more.
- THE WHITE LAMP ITS YOU (RON BASEJAM REMIX)
Think this came out recently on Future Boogie. The original mix is very nice, but this remix takes the biscuit! As much as i love listening to this in my car, id prefer to be hearing this on a beach with the smell of bbq in the air and smiles on faces everywhere i turn!
- PEDESTRIAN NOON JAIPUR
Anything that this guy makes is of a certain quality that never lets me down. He has an great ability to morph into any situation with ease. for example he has tunes in his arsenal for those lonely headphone sessions and tunes that can leave club goers feeling well and truly Tangoed! This track sits nicely in the middle of those two moments i think..
- DIRG GERNER RUBIES & DIAMONDS FEAT. FATIMA
Loving the recent productions from Flako/Dirg Gerner. When i first heard the track ‘Lonely Town’ by Flako earlier this year i was very taken by it. But I was worried that it might of been one of those one off moments of glory that happens every now and then for some producers. But i couldn’t of been more wrong, the EP that this particular track is from is something to be treasured. Fatima adds something magical on this one, great collaboration.
