Wiley ft. Angel & Tinchy Stryder - Lights On

Wiley was complaining on Twitter the other week about his label forcing him to release a fourth pop single from his latest album ‘The Ascent’, but it looks like they found a compromise. The video for Lights On takes things back to July ’02 when he released Eskimo and inspired a new generation of young people to start making music. Unfortunately, the song itself is definitely less inspiring than his early instrumentals and doesn’t stand up to the really good singles Heatwave or Can You Hear Me? (both produced by Rymez and featuring Ms. D, FYI) either. It’s serviceable for him, though, Angel’s got a nice voice and Tinchy’s got a new haircut.

There’s no set time Wiley has his tea at and he’s struggled with label demands throughout his career. Read our history of his disputes with majors.
